In their book Just Memories, Remembrance and Restoration in the Aftermath of Political Violence, the editors and authors examine how memory and remembrance relate to the specific mode of transitional justice that lays emphasis on restoration. They ask what is captured and what is obliterated in individual and collective efforts to come to terms with a violent past?
In this free webinar both editors, Camila de Gamboa Tapias and Bert van Roermund, present their findings and enter into a dialogue with two other authorities in the field of transitional justice and memorialisation: Stephan Parmentier and Eric Heinze.
Participants will be given the opportunity to ask questions and to participate in the discussion. Questions may be sent in in advance.
