Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming more increasingly prevalent in our daily social and professional lives. Although AI systems and robots bring many benefits, they present several challenges as well.
In this comprehensive book, scholars critically examine how AI systems may impact Belgian law. JAN DE BRUYNE is research expert AI and (tort) law at the KU Leuven Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP). He is also working as senior researcher at the Knowledge Centre Data & Society. He obtained his PhD at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Ghent University and has been a postdoctoral researcher on liability and robots at the same Faculty.
CEDRIC VANLEENHOVE is Secretary-General of the Flemish Sports Tribunal and professor at the HEC Management School of the University of Liège. He obtained his PhD at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of Ghent University, where he subsequently worked as a post-doctoral researcher in transnational law.

Het Centrum voor Verbintenissen- en Goederenrecht (CVGR) is een samenwerkingsverband binnen de Faculteit Rechtsgeleerdheid van de Universiteit Gent. Het CVR beoogt toonaangevend en hoogwaardig wetenschappelijk onderzoek te verrichten op het gebied van het verbintenissenrecht, het contractenrecht, het buitencontractueel aansprakelijkheidsrecht en het goederenrecht, zowel vanuit nationaal als vanuit Europees perspectief.
Het resultaat van dit onderzoek wordt gepubliceerd in deze CVGR-reeks. Deze reeks wordt aangestuurd door een redactie die instaat voor de samenstelling en de kwaliteitsbewaking van de boeken die in de CVR-reeks verschijnen.
De leden van deze redactie zijn I. Claeys (UGent), M. Kruithof (UGent), A. Wylleman (UGent), I. Boone (KU Leuven), H.J. Snijders (Universiteit Leiden) en P. Wautelet (Université de Liège).
